Open Site Code - Welcome

Welcome to the Official Open Site Code - PHP Development Area. This section is dedicated to members, users, editors, coders, translators and the general public that wants to find more about the Open Site code PHP Port, and probably to help at its development.

The code allows for any site to have a structure based on category and editors in order to store general information and offer it to the public.

OSC-PHP refers to the original Open Site Code, written in CGI-Perl by mjflick, vladd, ciaran. Contributors: lufiaguy, curcio, beu.

The contents of the files are subject to the Mozilla Public License Version 1.1. The License is available at (new window opens).

CVS update
*First CVS revision for some files. All the updates are referred to /web/firstaccount.php, the tool that allows you to create the first root user of the system.
OSC-PHP also works with Apache/2.2.3 (on Win32) and PHP/5.2.0RC6-dev (tested).
File /docs/INSTALL should be updated too: htpasswd is not necessary anymore. Authentication is done using Auth and File::Passwd PEAR classes (take a look at /docs/AUTH for more info). OSC-PHP uses File (passwords are CVS pserver-style encoded) as database, but DB/MDB (frontbase, interbase, informix, msql, mssql, mysql, mysqli, oci8, odbc, pgsql, sqlite, sybase) can be used.
Please refer to /docs/AUTH for more info about Pear dependencies and authentication options.

Restart of the project
*Since Saturday 14th October 2006 the PHP Port of the Open Site Code restarted with the help of SourceForge (hosting, shell, cvs... everything :P).
All the files are already available under the CVS server. In next days I'll publish some news about compatibility (it should work under Apache 2.0.40 and above, but I'll test it under Apache 2.2 and, hopefully, under Apache 1.3.xx; usage of PHP 4.1.1 or above (better if it's PHP 5.x.x) is highly recommended).
I will publish as soon as possible Milestones, Install instructions and PEAR dependencies under this new platform (however, you could take a look at these files using the CVS viewer - folder /osc-php/docs).
